macApologies for the lack of linkage of late. Sometimes the day job gets in the way of decent crime. I’m operating under the “one shot, one kill” mentality today — one link, but it’s a damn good one.

They have come and gone between different publishers in the years since, re-emerging in 2006 with Hard Case Crime, a company delighted to recognise classy noir fiction, and giving a new life to Collins’s creation Quarry, the Vietnam vet turned professional hit man.
