Crime Fiction writer

Really excited to announce that today the Veterans Writing Project launches its inaugural issue of its literary journal, The Review. Even more excited to announce that it contains my short story, “The Booze Rumor.”

The Veterans Writing Project is “… a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Washington DC. We provide no-cost writing seminars and workshops for veterans, active and reserve service members, and military family members.”

Organized and run by seasoned journalists and writers who are also combat veterans, it’s a new group that, in my own view, has enormous potential to tap into the largely unknown reservoir of veteran voices. If you’re a veteran, or if you know one, check this site out, support them in whatever way you can, and watch it grow. I’ll post notices and info here, too, as time goes on.

Besides “The Booze Rumor,” which is fiction, check out my other account of the Persian Gulf War, Into the Storm, here.

Also, today is the 237th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. To all my brothers (and sisters) out there, happy birthday and welcome home.
